Hijr-Ismail or Hateem

Originally part of the Holy Kaaba, Hijr Ismail or the Stone of Ismail also known as Hateem is a semi-circular shaped white marble wall opposite the northwest wall of the Holy Kaaba, but it’s not attached to it. It was the place where Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) made a shelter for his wife Hazrat Hajra (PBUH) and son Hazrat Ismail (PBUH).

The Hijr-Ismail is a holy place for every brother or sister visiting for Umrah or Hajj to ask for forgiveness during their pilgrimage, the reward for praying here is substantial. It is also considered equivalent to praying inside the holy Kaaba itself, although finding a spot in this mostly overcrowded area may prove to be challenging.
